The Constitution of the United States of America
The Constitution of the United States describes the three chief branches of the Federal Government and their jurisdictions. In addition, it lays out the basic rights of citizens of the United States. The Constitution comprises the primary law of the United States Federal Government.

The Constitution of the United States was framed by a convention of delegates from twelve of the thirteen original states in Philadelphia in May 1787.

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
