Congresswoman and Motorcyclist Fatally Shot

Saturday January 8, 2011:
Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) was fatally shot outside a grocery store while conducting a public event with her constituents in north Tucson, Arizona.

Details are emerging, but its certain Giffords was fatally shot along with up to possibly 5 more with injuries to another 12, or more.

Giffords was Chair of the United States House of Representatives Motorcycle Safety Caucus. She was a true friend of the motorcyclists of this Country and served them well. We at the MRF are deeply saddened by this loss and wish her surviving family well in this tragic time.
